2020 Industry Night & Awards Recap

SDSHP hosted the annual 2020 Industry Night and Awards ceremony virtually on Wednesday, December 16th.

The event was a great success with over 70 participants, including CSHP’s CEO Loriann DeMartini and President Lisa Gunther, as well as our partners in industry Scott Beck and Rana Shouman from Bayer, Christine Mass from Novo Nordisk, and Teresa Dawson from Merck. It was also announced that between SDSHP and its members, $1670 was raised and donated to Rady Children’s Hospital Toy Fund for the 2020 holiday season.

Loriann and Lisa installed the 2021 SDSHP board members and delegates as followed: President Jairus Mahoe; President-Elect Nightingale Meyou; Past-President Christine Cadiz; Secretary Joe Martin (continuing); Treasurer Kim Tallian; Board of Directors Andrew Smith, Kerry Rambaran, Diandra Ruidera, Marcie Lepkowsky (continuing), Marie Scott (continuing); Delegates Candis Morello, Andrew Smith; and Alternate Delegates Tu Nguyen, Nancy Lam. We also recognized the outgoing board members, Joyce Ho, Kenneth Schell, and Mimi Nguyen, and outgoing delegates, Jennifer Floyd, Stephanie Kim and Kelsey Garlick for their hard work and dedication to our chapter and profession.

With cancellation of the SDSHP Gala in March due to the pandemic, we were unable to previously celebrate the 2019 awards. Therefore, we recognized the 2019 Pharmacist of the Year, Albert Rizos and 2019 Technician of the Year, Pam Shea, as well as our 2020 Pharmacist of the Year, Nightingale Meyou, and 2020 Technician of the Year, Jessica Caratachea.

The night included other festivities such as random prize drawings, a trivia contest, and a virtual escape room event. Congratulations to all our participants and winners!
